In this blog post I’m going to write 8 passive income ideas based on how hard it is to get started and how hard it is to maintain and make money from it.

These days I’ve been averaging around $30k to $40K monthly and by the end of the year we’re expecting to reach 50k USD per month.

A couple of years ago I used to think that the only way to make a lot of money was becoming a doctor, engineer or a lawyer and that’s completely a myth.

There’s so many ways you can also make ten thousand dollars per month with the right approach.

So whether you’re working a 9 to 5 and want some passive income on the side or you’re looking to start a new side hustle and maybe eventually quit your nine to five job.

This is the perfect article for you, the article makes things easier to understand. Before we go in, Let’s clear out what passive income is.

What is Passive Income

Passive income is not like you’re doing nothing and money grows on the trees.

it’s more like you do a certain work up front or set a system that generates income over time with minimal ongoing effort.

I’m not saying there’s no effort, the key concept is that once the initial work is done the income continues to flow without requiring constant active involvement.

In other words you’re not exchanging your time for money directly, so think about writing a book.

To write a book, you need to spend a lot of time in the beginning but once it’s published you don’t necessarily need to continue writing to generate income that is called passive income.

Passive income can also be explained as the money earned regularly with minimal effort or active involvement once the initial work or setup is done.

It’s like setting up a system that continues to generate income without needing constant, hands-on attention.

For instance, rental property income, royalties from a book or music, or earnings from investments are examples of passive income.

8 Passive Income Ideas

Passive income sources do take some work in the beginning to build them up so you shouldn’t expect to start earning millions straight from the beginning.

You need to build them up to a certain point and you also need to implement the right strategies.

I’m going to be talking about 8 of some of the best passive income sources available right now and exactly how to get started with them.

These are some of the best passive income sources because they’re easy to start, most of them don’t require a ton of capital right away and many of them have the potential of scaling up to ridiculous amounts of money down the line.

I can’t guarantee you’ll make millions of dollars just from reading this blog post but I’m going to teach you exactly what myself and a lot of my successful people are doing as well.

Passive Income online

1. YouTube

Passive income Source number one is on the website you’re already use to, which is YouTube. Most people don’t realize this but YouTube is one of the biggest opportunities available to people in our time.

The fact that we can just upload videos to YouTube and they have the potential to go viral and not only that but we can make money natively from ads that YouTube puts on the platform it’s absolutely incredible.

In history, we have lived during a time where we can take advantage of a website like this and it gets even better.

The content that we upload to Youtube also continues to get views for years in the future plus we can use it to promote any of the other passive income sources that we’ll be talking about today.

We can use it to promote affiliate products, selling our own course, so many different things all from one single YouTube channel, the videos live forever and they can continue to get views for years into the future.

Just to nail this point, over 40 million new people have signed up to YouTube since 2020 and think about this logically. Do you think all of those people are creating content?

No, most of those people are consumers they’re watching the content for entertainment and to learn new things. Only a tiny fraction 0.001% of those people are going to actually create content.

Meanwhile, out of those creating content, only a tiny fraction of those people know how to create good content that’s going to actually get a lot of views and if you can learn those strategies and you’re heading in the right direction.

Starting a YouTube channel is straightforward but creating content that stands Out Among the vast amount of the videos on the platform can be quite challenging.

High quality videos are crucial for gaining viewership while you don’t necessarily need super expensive gear to get started.

Investing in decent lighting and ensuring good sound quality can make a significant difference in the viewer experience.

Creating a YouTube channel isn’t about just filming, it’s about a comprehensive process involving research, scripting, filming, editing and creating good thumbnails.

All of this takes quite a lot of time and effort actually, consistency is key on YouTube.

To build and retain an audience, you need to regularly upload new videos but the potential rewards are also great.

Because of the long form content nature, viewers on YouTube can form a deeper connection with creators which can lead to a higher engagement and potentially more Revenue compared to short form content. Monetizing on YouTube can come through multiple ways like ad Revenue, sponsorships, affiliate links and promoting your own products or Services, even coaching.

In my own Journey YouTube has played a significant role. I’ve been trying to become a YouTuber since 2016 but initially I didn’t gain much traction despite posting a lot of videos.

But everything changed in 2020 when I decided to study the platform and take my content creation seriously and thanks to that.

Becoming a successful YouTuber isn’t about luck, it’s about understanding the platform and creating content that your audience values.

Although it requires consistency and time with the right approach anyone can find success on YouTube.

For those interested in learning more about how to grow on YouTube I have a dedicated blog post that explains in detail so check it out to learn how you can start and grow your own channel.

2. Affiliate Marketing

The passive income idea number two is Affiliate marketing. You’ve probably heard of this but it’s simply a technique where you promote somebody else’s product and every sale that you refer to them you get a commission from that sale.

Affiliate programs are a popular way to earn passive income. Companies like Amazon and IQUNIX, the keyboard that I use, have affiliate programs that you can join for free.

Once you join you can promote their products by sharing special links, when someone clicks on your link and makes a purchase you earn a commission.

Getting started is super easy. You just sign up for a program like Amazon Affiliates and it pastes the links into your blog, social media, YouTube page, newsletter, or whatever platform you’re using.

The tricky part of affiliate marketing is driving traffic to your links and convincing people to make a purchase.

This process can take time and effort especially if you’re starting from scratch with no audience. But with the right strategies such as high quality content, building a community that trusts you.

You can attract more traffic to your links and potentially earn a substantial income, maintenance is super easy. You just need to paste links I personally do this within my own business.

I promote other software that I talk about within my blog and I make tens of thousands of dollars per month recurring because I’m promoting software that people pay for and they keep paying for over time, these include software like vid IQ and tubebuddy

How are these Affiliates promoting people’s programs in order to make money online doing affiliate marketing?

Well there’s two types of traffic sources when it comes to affiliate marketing or selling anything online and those are free traffic and paid traffic.

Now if you have more time than money then you definitely want to jump in and start with free traffic but on the other hand if you have more money than time then it does make sense to start experimenting with paid traffic.

Free traffic in my opinion is the best form of traffic, going to be running YouTube channels because like I said those videos live forever they can continue to give views.

Unlike other social media out there but if you want a complimentary source of traffic you can look into starting an Instagram account.

You can even think about adding your very own website or blog and when it comes to PAID traffic, these can include YouTube ads, Facebook ads, Instagram ads, Etc

Another free source of traffic by the way is TikTok, so if you produce any short form content it definitely makes sense to distribute that on TikTok, YouTube shorts, Instagram reels.

Then put the link to the affiliate product you’re promoting in your bio for each of those respective platforms.

The maths behind affiliate marketing is incredibly promising, if you get just 20 sales per month at a $500 commission then you’re making $110,000 per month, that’s way more than a full-time income for most people.

So as you can see the potential for affiliate marketing is incredibly High, You should learn about how to start AFFILIATE MARKETING for BEGINNERS here.

3. Create Digital Products

Creating digital products like Notion templates, Good notes, Digital planners and E-books is an effective way to generate passive income.

Once created these products can be sold multiple times without any additional work resulting in a continuous stream of income.

For example,  Thomas Frank a famous YouTuber with almost 3 million subscribers abandoned his main Channel and focus on his second Channel which has only like 174k subscribers to sell Notion templates.

Last year he earned over 1 million dollars in revenue from selling these templates.

The difficulty of starting depends on your familiarity with creating these types of digital products.

If you’re already tech savvy and familiar with tools like notion and good notes, getting started can be relatively easy but if you’re new to these platforms it might take some time to get up to speed.

Writing an E-book requires an in-depth knowledge of your subject and the ability to effectively communicate your ideas.

It can be a significant time investment especially if you’re aiming for a high quality comprehensive book.

The challenge in making money from digital products lies in the marketing and gaining visibility in a crowded Marketplace platforms like Etsy and Gumroad.

Those platform can help you solve your products but you will need to actively promote them to drive sales.

As with affiliate marketing the key here is driving traffic to your products this can be done by leveraging SEO, Social media, Email marketing or maybe paid advertising like Google ads.

You’ll also need to keep your product updated to ensure they remain relevant and appealing to the customers. The effort required for maintenance is minimal.

Once the product is created it doesn’t require much upkeep but you may need to update your products occasionally based on customer feedback or change changes in the platform they’re designed for.

So this option can be a profitable if you have the expertise and create valuable digital products and the marketing skills to promote them effectively.

4. Create Online Course

Creating online courses is a powerful way to diversify your income, platforms like skillshare provide an incredible opportunity for anyone with a unique skill or expertise to share that knowledge and earn money.

Ali Abdall for example – he’s a successful YouTuber and a Doctor, ex-doctor Who teaches productivity courses on skillshare.

According to him, he makes almost a million dollars a year just from his skillshare courses and that’s a life-changing amount of money and testimony to the power of online courses.

It’s not just Ali, many people have jumped on this trend and recently I saw someone publish a language learning course designed to help people effectively learn a new language in the least amount of time.

This has opened up a new stream of income for the person all while enabling the person to share her knowledge with others.

Skillshare isn’t just about making money, it’s also a place to learn new skills whether you want to start a side hustle, develop a new hobby or focus on personal development.

Skillshare has thousands of classes that can help you achieve your goals.

Looking to master video editing for your channel, there’s a course for that. I want to learn about social media marketing to boost your online presence, skillshare also has you covered.

From graphic design to creative writing to coding the possibilities are endless what’s even better is that skillshare offers a one

month free trial and you can access all these incredible courses without paying a dime.

If you feel it’s not for you, you can cancel your subscription within the trial period so it’s risk-free learning new skills.

5. Membership Platforms

Membership platforms are a powerful way to generate passive income while simultaneously building a dedicated Community around your content.

Let’s consider the case of Hamza, a successful content creator.

Hamza runs a membership platform where he makes thousands of dollars every month by creating a community for like-minded People to enjoy his content.

This model provides significant benefits for both parties involved, members receive value through interaction with a supportive community of people with shared interests and goals, aiming accountability bodies in an environment encourages progress.

Meanwhile Hamza earns a steady income while deepening his relationship with his core fans and providing them Extra Value.

Establishing a membership program involves some initial work. You’ll need to Define what exclusive benefits you’ll offer, set up a payment system and promote your program to potential members.

Plus it’s essential to have a solid follower which you can Market the membership with, you don’t necessarily have to have a lot of followers but core followers that actually love you and your content

Once established a membership program, it requires regular engagement and content creation to keep members satisfied and also attract new ones.

Examples of membership benefits might include monthly group coaching’s, one-on-one sessions, exclusive content or maybe even like special events meetups.

Running a membership program can be an excellent way to monetize your audience while also providing Extra Value to your most dedicated followers.

It’s not just about generating income, it’s about creating a space where your community can Thrive and where you can interact more closely with your audience.

It can also offer a more predictable income stream compared to ad-based revenue, so that’s it.

Passive income from home

6. No Code Software

Passive Income Idea number five is a little bit outside the box, this  is something called No code software.

As you probably know software has made so many people incredibly Rich over time.

In the past, you have to be some type of tech Wizard, or you have to know one or you have to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars employing people who did know how to make software in order to make something that you hoped was going to be successful.

Nowadays new tools have been popping up for example bubble.io which allows people to create their very own software without any super Advanced technical knowledge and this has been commonly called No code software.

Now the key when it comes to having a successful software though this is to actually solve somebody’s problem.

Check Out -  EASY Methods To Invest $10 and Earn Daily (7 Passive Income Ideas)

For example if I take a look at the software that I personally use within my businesses it includes software like vid IQ like I mentioned earlier which allows me to analyze the statistics of different YouTube channels.

I also see people using Kajabi for hosting their courses and this allows them to Simply upload the videos to their course and they handle making it look good and everything and surprisingly you can create very similar products to these using no code software.

Now there is a little bit of a learning curve for this but not nearly as much as learning to code then from scratch and you can go down this Rabbit Hole like I have over the past couple months.

You can look into this further if you want, just by searching no code software on YouTube you’ll find a lot of tutorials teaching exactly how to do this and people showing case studies of being able to make lots of money with software.

The brilliant thing about software as well is the fact that it is oftentimes recurring Revenue.

This means that somebody keeps paying for that software month over month and if you get 1,000 users each paying you $20 per month that right there is $20,000 per month in monthly recurring revenue.

7. High Yield Savings Account

Passive income Idea number six is for when you actually start making money with some of above methods, you are now going to need a place to put it.

So instead of using most bank accounts that are out there which are going to earn you little to nothing whatsoever in the form of interest you can instead look into something called a high yield savings account.

This is true passive income because you literally just put the money in there and you’ll get a deposit every single month depending on how much you put in.

This is where I like to store my extra cash because then it’s not just sitting there it’s actually doing at least a little bit of something for me.

For this I do recommend you choose a bank account that is FDIC insured to ensure that your money is going to be alright.

I do advice to choosing a bigger bank if you can as well so you don’t have to deal with the small one that could potentially go under or anything.

8. Investing in The Stock Market

Once you start making lots of money with those passive income sources above then it’s time to jump to passive income Source number seven which is investing.

It’s time to invest some of your money and the reason for that is so you don’t lose your money to inflation because with inflation the value of your money decreases over time.

Now investing can seem like a very complicated subject however the way that I like to go about doing it is actually very simple.

I just invest the majority of my money in index funds or ETFs that cover the majority of sectors and markets within the stock market including SCHD, SCHB. VOO, VXUS  and a bunch of different other ones.

None of this is investment advice.

I’m simply sharing what I personally do but the reason I invest in these is because these funds comprise hundreds of different of the top companies in them.

Investing in the stock market is an investment method that everyone needs to consider.

In my opinion it’s super easy and much better than putting your money in a bank and waiting for it to lose its value.

By investing in the stock market you have the potential to earn much higher Returns on your investment after you have your emergency fund of six to eight months aside.

Just in case something happens, start investing and make it a habit.

Depending on your risk tolerance, you may also want to consider investing in crypto.

By investing in the stock market you’re not only earning passive income but you’re also giving your money the opportunity to grow over time.

This is important because inflation can cause the value of your money to decrease over time. By investing in the stock market you are predicting your wealth and giving yourself the potential to earn even more.

Some other passive income people involved in are

  1. Rental properties
  2. Print-on-demand products
  3. Create a niche blog with ad revenue
  4. Sell stock photos
  5. Rent out storage space
  6. Invest in a business as a silent partner
  7. Rent out equipment or tools

Final Words

Quick one, before you go about investing or high yield savings accounts or anything make sure that you first and foremost focus on a business or a skill that’s going to generate you income in the first place.

Like I said in my opinion the absolute best way of doing that is running a YouTube channel.

If you want to discover step by step how to start a faceless YouTube channel and potentially make a lot of money from it then check out this blog post.

Those are my top picks for passive income ideas based on my own experience and experiences of others.

Keep in mind that passive doesn’t mean effortless, it takes time energy and sometimes money to set up these income streams but once they’re up and running they can provide a steady source of income with minimal ongoing effort.

Remember the key to success with passive income as with any other Ventures is consistency, patience and willingness to learn.

It’s about finding what works for you, sticking with it and constantly looking for ways to improve and expand.
